Place: 1st, Time: 1:59.5
I ran an 800 last night at the Sunset Tour track meet. 1:59.5 is my fastest time since 2016. I haven’t had much opportunity to run 8s since that year, and it’s a blast whenever I do them. I feel comfortable and confident in this distance. It’s nice to remember that even as I continue to better myself as a 1500 m runner, there’s no reason to abandon my other strengths. Plus, vying for the win helps get me in that championship mindset. Next race is US Nationals in two ish weeks!
